The Floyd Energy Fair will feature a wide range of presentations on subjects including solar power, electric cars, and even how to heat your home with dirt! Check out the full presenter schedule below:

11:00am: Wind and Solar – Grid-Interactive Energy Systems
A discussion about a home interactive wind and solar systems. No matter what your energy resources are, the technology is here to provide your home with reliable electricity at all times.

Noon: The Home Energy Audit
Learn how a professional energy audit of your  home can help you save energy, save money, and improve the health and safety of your home.
Presenter: Chris Nicholson from Energy Check
1:00pm: All About Electric Cars
A presentation on the importance of moving quickly to electric cars, battery-electric cars and plug-in-hybrid-electric cars.

2:00pm: What’s New in the World of Solar
Learn about how a solar electric system works, how much it costs and what is the return on investment. Bring your electric bills and learn the answers to these and more.

3:00pm: Restorative Forestry for Multiple Reasons
If forestry is going to be sustainable it has to be restorative. Come hear a unique perspective on addressing human needs from the forests, including modern animal powered techniques and the latest science.

4:00pm: Heating your Home with Dirt
Hear about the newest technology for energy efficient systems from mini-splits to heat pumps. Learn how to lower your utility bills and increase your comfort.

SustainFloyd and Apple Ridge Farm are hoping to electrify adults and children with fascinating exhibits and fun at the first annual Floyd Energy Fair at Chantilly Farm on Saturday, July 15 from 10 am to 5 pm.

The Energy Fair will be held rain or shine. Admission will be $5 per family and $3 for individuals, and tickets will be sold at the door. Let us know if you plan on coming! Click on the button below to RSVP on our Facebook event page.
