SustainFloyd feels it’s important to participate in the life of our community. This includes celebrating our heritage and culture and promoting our unique place in the world. We are active in promoting local and regional events that showcase issues of economic, environmental and agricultural sustainability. For example, this past September, we held our first annual Breakfast at the Market where 200 breakfast-goers celebrated over a meal of local food with local music all under the Community Market as part of promoting local farmers. We have also provided leadership in four important local celebrations:
- Earth Day
- Splitrail Eco-Fair, Floyd County’s first environmental festival
- Harvest Festival and County Fair
- Exhibitor at the Floyd Town Jubilee
