Our educational film series brings documentaries on important issues to the Floyd County that our community would have little or no opportunity to see.For example, SustainFloyd partnered with the Clean Valley Council of Roanoke, to present the award-winning documentary film BAG IT – Is Your Life too Plastic. The film shows how our crazy-for-plastic world has finally caught up to us and what we can do about it. We also partnered with Spikenard Farm Honeybee Sanctuary of Floyd, Virginia to host the exclusive southeastern screening of the new documentary Queen of the Sun, followed by a lecture on organic honey bee cultivation by nationally known author Gunther Hauk.
