Floyd-Community-MarketEvery community needs a place where its people can gather to share, learn and celebrate. Opened in May 2010, the Floyd Community Market is a 3,000 square-foot timber frame multi-use pavilion located in the center of town. Currently home to the weekly farmers market and artisans market, it connects consumers to locally grown produce and hand crafts. It also provides a stage for local music and community events, additional public parking for downtown Floyd during the week, and has already been the site of three festivals.

The Community Market has advanced two of our primary objectives: to help develop a local food system and to encourage the creative economy and local entrepreneurship. An excellent example of community collaboration, more than 40 people and many local companies provided assistance during construction. Designed by Streamline Timberworks, the logs were harvested by Draftwood Forest Products, a local horse logging company, and cut by Turman Lumber Co. Crenshaw Lighting provided the lighting and Professional Builders coordinated the construction.
