Julia Bollinger, Office and Communications Coordinator
I have lived in Floyd for a few years now, and I feel lucky every day to be living in this beautiful place and doing my best to practice the participatory endeavor that is community. A desire to have a relationship with land, to farm and forage a better portion of our diet, and to live at a more thoughtful pace lead my husband and I here at the end of 2016. In 2009 I graduated from Colorado College with a major in studio art. I worked as a printmaker and studio manager at Oehme Graphics in Steamboat Springs, Colorado for three years. My drafting training continued at the Florence Academy of Art in Florence, Italy and New York at the Mana Contemporary where I studied drawing and painting. Interspersed through my artistic life have been periods of working on organic farms and learning how to grow food. I work at Blue Mountain School teaching a weekly class called Rooted Living, where the students learn about sustainability and handmade crafting. I am interested in forming healing relationships with the land through art, farming, teaching, and now from an outreach position at SustainFloyd. To view my artwork visit www.juliabollinger.com
