SustainFloyd members and volunteers will prepare buckwheat pancakes with fruit toppings and real maple syrup, scrambled eggs, breakfast potatoes, orange juice and Red Rooster coffee. Local ingredients from area farms will be used. All this, along with live music from Tim Pak & the Buffalo Trace Trio can be purchased for $7/Adult and $5/children 11-and-under. Local sausage may be added for $2 more. No reservation is needed but it is first come first served.
“We’re heading into the peak of leaf season, and what better way to kick off your Saturday than with a big breakfast made with local ingredients,” said SustainFloyd Director Mike Burton. “This is our major fundraiser for the market and a celebration of the bounty of Floyd County with eggs, sausage and potatoes from local farms.”
Those attending the breakfast can also shop for local, sustainably produced vegetables, fruit, eggs, and meats at the Floyd Farmers Market. Local florists, bakers and crafters will also sell their wares. In addition, each Friday evening SustainFloyd hosts the Floyd Artisans Market featuring the best local crafts in the area.
There will be no advance ticket sales for Breakfast at the Market. Just show up to enjoy this wonderful community event. For more information, call 540/745-7333.
