SustainFloyd Presents Senator Tim Kaine with The Personal Climate Pledge

On January 6, 2018 SustainFloyd board member, Woody Crenshaw, attended a panel with Senator Tim Kaine at the Floyd EcoVillage. Having known each other for some years, Kaine and Crenshaw had the opportunity to chat after the discussion on local agricultural concerns where Crenshaw presented Kaine with the SustainFloyd “Personal Climate Pledge.”

The SustainFloyd “Personal Climate Pledge” is a document that “reflects the individual’s commitment to reducing their carbon footprint and personal waste, and supporting their local economy by buying locally.” — Colleen Redman of The Floyd Press. The Pledge is the brainchild of Crenshaw in response to President Donald J.Trump pulling the U.S. out of the Paris Climate Accord on July 1, 2017.

Senator Kaine said he was thrilled to learn about the initiative and promises to hang the frame in his office.
